How to start boarding?

 

2 EASY steps to get started!

 

1) First, Complete an application on our website.

Link listed below & please review boarding requirements & FAQ. It goes over pricing, add on services, vaccinations required, what to bring, drop off & pick up instructions. Please review before services start!

 

2)Schedule Trial Night & Verify Vaccinations: 

After we receive application, we will respond via email to get vaccinations & schedule a trial night on a weeknight. 

 

Pending trial is completed and approved, you can book any future reservations you may need!

 

 

What & Why is a trial night required?

 

This is a test run to evaluate your dog for boarding services. Our trial night is completed prior to an actual boarding reservation. SRR conducts trial nights to ensure pups are comfortable throughout boarding. We observe behaviors; handling, crating, how they handle stimulation/environment if calm/relaxed or anxious. This is different than MOST boarding facilities. After managing facilities and seeing how some dogs struggle, we want to be PROACTIVE to adding stress to your dog while boarding. If we can not get your dog to be comfortable, we will not approve. We do not take human aggressive dogs on site. 

 

SRR will not reserve or hold potential reservation dates until trial night is completed.  Trial nights are required and same rates as boarding.

 

Runs are 10 x 5 x 6! One on interior that also opens to the same exact run on the outside. 

 

 

 

Academy Check In/Out Operations 

 

 

Standard Reception Hours

For your convenience, standard reception hours are Monday through Friday 7am-5pm.

 

Academy Check In/Out Hours 

7 Days a Week, 7am-5pm

For every boarding reservation, clients complete a “Check In Form”. (Including trial) This allows client to choose desired reservation dates & times between 7am-5pm, 7 days a week. 

 

When selecting drop off times, SRR prefers you choose an AM time if possible, this allows your dog to have the entire day to settle in before bedtime & sleep soundly. (More important for new clients or puppies/high energy or anxious pups!)

 

No unannounced visitors on site. Check in/out is by APPOINTMENT ONLY 7AM-5PM: chosen & scheduled on “Check in Form”. Please treat times as an appointment & arrive on time. We do not offer late outs/in after 5pm. 

 

Disclosure****If you are running late for designated check in/out time, please inform SRR immediately. Repeat offenders will be charged $1/per min and added to invoice. It is difficult for us to change our schedule on short notice. We often are stopping training, playdates, cleaning or in-between lessons to conduct boarding check in/outs. Our hope is by allowing clients to choose check in/out times between 7am-5pm, this allows it to be convenient for clients.                                                     Example of Check In Form

What items to bring for boarding?

 

Food: SRR suggests you bring enough food for length of stay, PLUS another 24 hours worth incase of travel changes.
Beds/Blankets/Chews- anything your pup LOVES. Spoil them while you are away too, they deserve it. And we are happy to spoil pups!

 

Please provide slow feeder bowls if necessary, water and food bowls are provided by SRR.

 

What Is My Dogs Daily Schedule While Boarding?

 

First, we wake up pups for potty outs at 7am. Everyone gets 20 min potty out & a full look at overall health & body checks. The first sign of a health concern usually starts by eliminations or behaviors.

 

Then we prepare breakfast & any medications. We clean all academy runs, bowls, and refresh water/food during this time. Then place pups back away to graze on breakfast. We allow dogs to rest after all meals to be proactive to bloat. 

 

Pups continue to rotate potty outs (20 mins) 5 times throughout the day.  (This is included in boarding rate) Guillotine doors will be open to outdoor runs, weather permitting. 

 

Clients that choose “Add On Services” (either Exercise Only/Playtime or Training-listed below) will also receive their Add On Services throughout the day. 

 

Naps are offered throughout the day as needed. During nap time, SRR conducts off/on site lessons, cleaning and errands. Cameras & thermostat controls are installed for SRR owners to view when off site. Dogs are constantly supervised. 

 

By evening we start our dinner process, followed by a longer last potty out, lights out and calming music on!

 

Because of our varying schedules, this is why we are by appointment only. 

 

 

 

What “Add On Services” are available?

Clients also can select frequency: Daily, Every Other Day or At SRR Discretion 

 

If you add the exercise or playtime option, we offer multiple sessions throughout the day. We do not offer a "duration" on sessions. Each dogs needs vary, each play session ends when pups are ready to rest and needs have been met. Example: 1 year old German Shepherd exercise needs are much different than a 10 year old Mini Schnauzer. 

 

Board & Train Program is not available for an add on service. Our board & train program is 2 weeks old, includes training, socialization, off site activities & private follow up lessons. Must be discussed & evaluated prior to approval. Please email srrdogtraining@gmail.com for inquiries. 

 

How to select “Add On Services”?

How Often Will My Dog Receive “Add On Services”?

How does “Playtime: Dog to Dog Play” Add On Service” work?

 

Playtime: Dog to Dog Play $20

 

Clients MUST select Playtime Add On Services on “Check In Form” to have their dog participate in dog to dog play. 

 

Once your pup is on site, we evaluate each dog’s play style in a temperament test. Pending temperament test, we will review existing dogs and match play partners accordingly. 

 

If you add the exercise or playtime option, we offer multiple sessions throughout the day. We do not offer a "duration" on sessions. Each dogs needs vary, each play session ends when pups are ready to rest and needs have been met.

 

***At SRR Academy, we currently have 5 large runs (& crates available for major holidays). Leaving us to have a lower volume than most dog boarding facilities. There are so many benefits & reasons why we prefer a lower quantity of dogs. It allows our dogs to be in a quieter environment, receive personalized & quality care to have a better experience while boarding.

BUT this may cause playtime partners be limited; since SRR does not have a large quantity of dogs boarding, options on good playmates vary each stay. If we see possible candidates for play, we am more than happy to offer this service.

 

 

What If I don’t want my dog to play with other dogs but just have exercise add on service?

 

On check in form, select “Exercise only: no dog to dog play”

 

You may select this for various reasons: dog selective, injury or senior dog, etc. We are still happy to provide individual exercise for your dog in whichever form they prefer most, fetch, walk or cuddles! 

 

What if my dog becomes ill or is injured?

 

SRR will reach out to make contact immediately when illness or injury is detected to discuss severity and treatment options that must be confirmed with the pet parent. If the pet parent can not be reached, a signed waiver allows SRR to seek veterinary attention if SRR feels necessary. All medical bills are the responsibility of pet parents.

 

Medications

Please provide any daily medications and as needed meds. No extra fee for medications.
 

 

Safety & Security at SRR Academy 

 

SRR has surveillance cameras on exterior and interior of Academy facility. Can be viewed remotely by owners only. 

Thermostat control & Smoke/Co2 Detection devices also viewed & alerts, remotely by owners only.
